None of my books - more than twenty of them now! - are sold with Digital Rights Management (DRM). That's the encryption that locks a digital file to the seller's platform. Amazon knows this. It knows that if breaking up with Amazon means throwing away your books, that they can treat you badly (because you're held hostage by your library) and they can treat writers badly (because we're held hostage by you).
