Building on the U.S. Embassy– funded AULP (Algerian University Linkages Program) career center developments, World Learning is currently implementing the Promoting Education, Altruism and Civic Engagement (PEACE) program. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and it engages Algerian university students and select young leaders with disabilities in addressing social problems within their communities. Through a partnership with Handicap International and the Algerian National Federation of People with Disabilities (NFPD), the PEACE program connects university students and youth with disabilities with meaningful volunteer experiences with civil society organizations, allowing them the opportunity to make a valuable impact on their communities while building practical skills and enhancing their professional portfolios for future employment.
